Bloodrayne

Well, to begin with, this one had about as good a plot as any vampire movie. And all in all, it wasn't the total bomb that I expected it to be.  It had a lot going for it, nice film, a sound idea, a well developed mythology.... But when you start replacing any kind of fight choreography with excessive and disgusting gore and choppy, out of focus shots, it all goes down hill from there.  There was more gore in this movie than in an Evil Dead movie, and far less wit. In fact I'm still not really sure if she turned evil or what at the end. All I know is that she sat down in a really big chair, there was a 5 minute montage of really nasty gore, then a close up, and then it ended. Retarded if you ask me.  Though, as usual, the crescent kick and the scorpion kick save the day.... don't ever forget that rule in life. :)

My recommendation; watch it on tv after they edit 90% of the gore out. Don't worry there will still be enough in there to satisfy most everyone, though you will lose out on some of the random nude shots and a very random sex scene. So maybe you will want to rent it ;)
