5 - Amazing! This rating is very high praise from me. It represents a book/movie that I enjoyed so much that I would reread or watch several times. It is unusual to receive this rating.
4 - I really liked it. This rating is still very good. It may be worth owning, but only if you find a good deal on it. This would be the rating that I give to most books/movies that I like.
3 - Good, but not something I would repeat. This rating is moderately good. It means that I enjoyed the experience, but that it is not something I would repeat.
2 - If it happens to be around, it's OK This rating is just OK. It means that I recommend reading if you are in a waiting room and it is sitting there, or watch it if it comes on TV. This generally means that I did not really enjoy the it, but that I didn't hate it.
1 - Not worth the effort This rating means that I hated it. My first description of it was "run screaming in the other direction" but that seemed a little bit dramatic....
My rating system is also modified by my comments in the My Recommendations section of the review, where I note any important information I think should be known like "really adult themes" or "turned into erotica out of nowhere."
