To begin with, a disclaimer, I have no issues with anyone's sexual orientation. :)
So yes, I netflixed this to see what all the hype was about, and in acknowledgment of South Park's amazingly accurate prediction of a movie about gay cowboys eating pudding and talking about their feelings, though in this case I found that they were more interested in beans. I'm glad that i watched it at work when there was absolutely nothing else to do or I would never had made it through it. The pace is horribly slow and plodding. While the scenery in the mountains is beautiful, nothing else about this movie really was. You honestly never really get the sense that these two men are really in love. How it came across to me was that one was just really clingy and emotionally insecure and the other was an ass. I suppose that their relationship was supposed to come across as an addiction that they just couldn't fight or something, but seriously, it was all lost on me. ><
The sex scenes were brutal. seriously. I suppose that they were trying to convey how much of an ass heath ledger was, but once again, I didn't really get it. Mostly I was just kinda disgusted.... if you see it, it's well, interesting.
I never was really able to care about any of the characters in the film, which for me is always a big problem. If I don't care, then I can usually find something better to do, usually. :P
Anyway, my recommendation: don't bother unless you want to punish your self for something. It's almost as slow as 2001: A Space Odyssey but without the sound track.
